It really is a great way to give them leadership opportunities at a young age.

Is there anything you think you might do differently if you were to try this again? I'd be curious to hear more of your reflections.

Aviva
www.weinspirefutures.comAviva (@avivaloca)http://www.weinspirefutures.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4874934997063157011.post-84676061511596376042013-06-17T16:52:49.486-04:002013-06-17T16:52:49.486-04:00Thanks for your thoughts and comments Karen and Am...Thanks for your thoughts and comments Karen and Amy!

Karen, I love the idea of your Grade Ones teaching an older grade - they would have LOVED it! :)

Amy, it's so true how much children are willing to help and each other. I love the term "coach" and working with small groups first to help teach the rest of the class.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05162847607626340221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4874934997063157011.post-2582806885400902052013-06-17T09:55:17.115-04:002013-06-17T09:55:17.115-04:00Jenni,

They came once a week on Tuesdays to help ( during their lunch and recess). I also saw my Firsties helping each other this year...they came so far.
By knowing the learners, the evidence of who i could tap to help coach others was a helpful approach I used! I called them coaches and I would roll new things out with the small group first...then they would work with a partner or partners and help others.Amy Ruddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18177520075043676835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4874934997063157011.post-22095709705281060482013-06-17T02:19:12.584-04:002013-06-17T02:19:12.584-04:00This is great Jenni. As you can imagine they were thrilled to sit beside them and show them what to do.Ms. L and Division 6https://www.blogger.com/profile/00526224226405928171noreply@blogger.com
